Day 1

The journey of a 1000 miles starts with the first step :-)
Today's breakfast was oatmeal, followed by a small portion of polska kielbaska (less than 2 inches long) and plenty of water. Today's lunch is a 100 calorie sandwich round (whole grain w/flax & fiber), 1 tablespoon of reduced fat peanut butter and a cup of applesauce. My afternoon snack will be raw celery & carrots! Those 8 pounds (plus 4 more!) have a deadline of May 1st to leave town!)

Walk the TALK!

Well, this weekend I finally got on the scale. The first time since one month after my surgery last September. I have gained 8 pounds :-(
Technically I can say I am probably wearing about 1.5 pounds of hair weave and I did have on clothes and shoes as well as this being the PMS week so I have a lot of water weight BUT I shall just claim all of those eight pounds.
The MD released me back to working out at the beginning of the year but with school and work I have not been back in the gym like I should so starting today No More EXCUSES! Going to start tracking my food again and working out accordingly.
Results forthcoming (prayerfully)

Good Deeds, indeed!

I was all ready to post awesome reviews about Good Deeds, until the end (DAMMITMAYNE). The end made it unbelievable to me. In his first male lead, Tyler did well to surround himself with a stellar cast and he was believable in the character. There were a few inconsistencies in the film and a penchant for "over-drama" as in most TP productions but I think that stems from his orgins in live plays wherein the over-acting adds to the production but all in all it was definitely entertaining, if sad in some spots, and worth going to see. The END irked me to no end, however...sorry for the spoiler but what homeless woman and child do you know running around with travel ready passports?!?!?! IJS
Go see it, great film.

The Woman in Black, interesting

Surprisingly enough, The Woman in Black wasn't awful. After looking past Daniel as Harry Potter and tuning out all other distractions, for you have to be attentive to this film to get the full effect of the cinematography and setting to truly get interested in the film, it was actually pretty good. I even got emotionally connected to the film by the end, enough to be mad at the antagonist prior to realizing the true ending. Definitely worth watching, but only at the matinee or the $1 Redbox or on cable! lol

Underworld Awakening - HATED IT!

Le sigh, I hate to see the end of an empire but every vampire must go out in a blaze of flame at some point. The fourth installment of the Underworld series looks cheaply made in some scenes, doesn't go into enough detail in others and overdoes some scenes as if viciousness will make up for poor writing. It was a good story just wasn't told really well and then, due to the length of time between each installment, the impossible happened...a vampire aged :-( Kate Beckinsale while still lovely and awesome in her stunts, looks visibly older in the movie and we know VAMPIRES DON'T AGE!!!
I say there will 1) not be another Underworld movie or 2) it will go straight to DVD and have none of the stars...

Do your own work!!!

Wow, school is very different from my last venture into education. I don't know if it is because the internet provides easier access to your classmates or if the kids today just feel super entitled but this generation of students don't pause 2 seconds in asking to copy homework, notes, test reviews, etc.
What happened to actually coming to class?
What happened to a sense of pride and accomplishment in doing your own work and succeeding?
SMH, I don't want ANY of these kids being doctors or nurses anywhere I get medical treatment!
